16 I heard and my heart pounded,
my lips quivered at the sound;
decay crept into my bones,
and my legs trembled.
Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity
to come on the nation invading us.
17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.

Life can bring moments when we feel afraid, confused, or unsure about what to do next. When circumstances become difficult, we can choose to keep our eyes on Jesus instead of allowing fear to control us.
Habakkuk 3:16-19 reminds us that faith means trusting God even when we do not understand what He is doing. We can entrust every decision to God, knowing that His wisdom is greater than ours. Surrendering our plans, worries, and desires allows us to place our lives in His hands.
Rejoicing in the Lord does not mean that everything is going well, but that our joy is rooted in who God is. Even when our circumstances change, Jesus remains faithful and worthy of our trust. We may not know what tomorrow will bring, but we can trust the One who already knows what lies ahead. When fear and uncertainty come, we can surrender everything to God and continue moving forward in faith.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, trust Him with every decision, and rejoice because He remains with you in every season.

Hi, I’m Pat, the creator of Pen, Paper, and Prayer, a Christian community created to reach people who need to know Jesus and encourage fellow believers in their walk with Christ. I created this space to share faith, testimonies, and lessons from real-life situations that others may relate to. I am also part of a church worship team and occasionally volunteer in other churches. Through writing, music, and service, I hope to glorify God and help make Jesus known.

When you don’t know what to do, where do you turn? We can ask God for wisdom and help, trusting that He hears us even when the answer is not immediate. When doubt and temptation come, we can keep our faith strong and choose to surrender our desires to God instead of giving in.

Difficult seasons can make us focus on fear and uncertainty. But when we remember God’s faithfulness and the ways He has carried us through the past, we can face today with greater trust. His love is broad, His presence is constant, and He remains in control.

When worries fill your mind, it can be difficult to find peace and strength. But you can bring every concern to God, trust Him with what you cannot control, and remember that you do not have to face difficult days alone.

It can be difficult to stay patient when people do wrong and seem to get away with it. When evil around us makes us angry or discouraged, we can choose to trust God, continue doing what is right, and leave justice in His hands. God sees everything, and we can remain patient while trusting His timing.

Life can become overwhelming when problems keep coming and we do not know what to do next. We may search for strength, hope, help, or peace in many places, yet still feel empty inside. Sometimes, the answer begins with simply coming to Jesus and trusting Him with what we cannot control. When we turn to Him in difficult moments, we can find the strength to keep going and the peace to face another day.
