5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
There are moments when we need help, wisdom, or direction but do not know where to turn. God invites us to ask Him, but we also need to trust Him instead of allowing doubt to weaken our faith.
When we lack wisdom or do not know what decision to make, we can ask God for the understanding and direction we need. We should not hesitate to come to Him because He is willing to guide us. Asking God does not mean that everything will happen exactly as we expect, but it means trusting Him with our needs and decisions. When we bring our questions to God, we acknowledge that we cannot figure everything out on our own.
When we ask God, we should continue believing even when the answer does not come immediately. Doubt can make us uncertain, but faith helps us remain confident that God hears us and knows what is best. We may not understand His timing or His answer, but we can continue trusting Him. Faith means choosing to rely on God even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
Temptation may come through the influence of Satan, but we also need to recognize the role of our own desires. We may face tempting thoughts or situations, but we still have a choice in how we respond. Our desires can become dangerous when we allow them to control our decisions. Instead of giving in, we can ask God for strength and wisdom to choose what is right. When we resist temptation and surrender our desires to God, our faith grows stronger through difficult moments.

Hi, I’m Pat, the creator of Pen, Paper, and Prayer, a Christian community created to reach people who need to know Jesus and encourage fellow believers in their walk with Christ. I created this space to share faith, testimonies, and lessons from real-life situations that others may relate to. I am also part of a church worship team and occasionally volunteer in other churches. Through writing, music, and service, I hope to glorify God and help make Jesus known.

Have you ever wondered what God’s love really means and whether His love is still for you? The Bible speaks about God’s love as something deeper than a feeling, because it is a love that reaches, forgives, transforms, and gives hope.
